Kylian Mbappe moved onto 51 Ligue 1 goals as Paris Saint-Germain extended their lead at the top of the table to 17 points with a 3-0 victory over Nimes on Saturday.

Thomas Tuchel's men saw second-placed Lille held by Strasbourg on Friday and took full advantage to widen the gap at the summit.

PSG were far from their fluent best as Nimes threatened early on, but once Christopher Nkunku had calmly slotted home from Marco Verratti's pass there was little doubt who would claim victory.

Mbappe could have easily had a hat-trick but had to settle for two in the closing stages to seal the points and reach his personal landmark.

Chelsea have been banned from the transfer market for two windows after FIFA found them guilty of a serious and systemic breach of the rules regarding their dealings with foreign players under the age of 18. The governing body announced the sanction on Friday at the end of a lengthy investigation into the club and how they have registered players at their academy over a number of years. FIFA had looked into more than 100 player cases at Chelsea. FIFA said that the club had been found guilty of 29 breaches of Article 19 – the most serious infringements relating to the registration of minors and several others. Chelsea have been fined 600,000 Swiss francs (£460,000) and given 90 days to “regularise the situation of the minor players concerned”, which could involve them being forced to move on anyone brought to the club in contravention of the regulations. Sanchez Ruled Out for 6-8 Weeks

Alexis Sanchez faces up to two months on the sidelines according to Chile national team doctor Pedro Onate, who analysed the knee injury the forward sustained in Manchester United's win over Southampton. Sanchez was replaced after 52 minutes of the 3-2 victory at Old Trafford following a challenge from Saints defender Jan Bednarek and United's own medical staff have yet to provide a prognosis. But Onate said that exams of Sanchez's condition showed he had suffered distention of the medial ligament, which would take a number of weeks to heal. Onate told El Mercurio: "There won't be any problems for him to be at the Copa [America], because he'll be out for between six and eight weeks. "Alexis may even play again before that time. Plus, there's a long way to go until the Copa America."

Manchester City are keeping tabs on Eintracht Frankfurt forward Luka Jovic, as per reports. The 21-year-old is the Bundesliga's top scorer this season and has also attracted interest from Barcelona and Chelsea, with the Catalans understood to be at the front of the queue for his signature. The striker is on a two-year loan from Benfica and Frankfurt are hopeful they can trigger a clause to sign him outright for €6 million (£5.3m/$6.8m) this summer, before selling him on for €60m (£52m/$68m). Barcelona, for their part, hope to sign him for €40m (£34.3m) and that kind of price would appeal to City, who have prioritised other areas for reinforcement in the upcoming transfer window. The Premier League champions will move for a holding midfielder and a left-back, but sources have reported that they have been monitoring Jovic closely in recent months.

Barcelona are into the Copa del Rey final for the sixth year in a row after a 3-0 win over Real Madrid on Wednesday sealed a 4-1 aggregate semi-final victory. Luis Suarez scored twice in the second half either side of a Raphael Varane own goal to send the Catalans through and keep their treble hopes alive. Madrid had gone into the second leg with a slight edge following a 1-1 draw at Camp Nou, but they failed to best Marc-Andre ter Stegen with some clear-cut chances in the first half. Former Man Utd Defender To Be New Feyenoord Coach

Feyenoord have confirmed Jaap Stam will replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst as the club’s new coach in the summer. Van Bronckhorst announced in January that he would be leaving his position at the end of the season, with former Manchester United defender Stam being appointed as his successor on a two-year contract. Stam only took charge at PEC Zwolle in December on an 18-month contract, but revealed that he could not turn down the opportunity to coach Feyenoord. “I really enjoy PEC Zwolle, but, for every ambitious coach, if the opportunity arises to work at a club like Feyenoord, you will seriously think about it,” Stam told Feyenoord’s official website. “After good and open conversations with (technical director) Martin van Geel about the possibilities and impossibilities at Feyenoord, I soon found out that I would like to go for this opportunity."
